Ole Blue

Congratulations goat lady.
Second time out of the gate and you posted a tipsy entry. Well I guess that’s the end of glamour here.
Oh yea, note to self “WE HAVE SPELL CHECK NOW!”

This used to be my car. Then it was my son Jon’s first car. It has been in the carport at the rental since he’s been in the Navy, 6 years. We had it towed to my house today. (It’s official) You might be a redneck if you have an old car up on blocks on your property. This car is still in good condition it only had one owner before me. It has also lived in a carport most of its long life. It is a 1976 Ford Granada. . I'm sure, one day Jon will be glad that he has his first car. Not many adult men can say that. He can clean it up and cover it properly when he returns from Antigua.

Looking at our property, you would think we collect Fords.

We have a 1967 ford truck - still runs great.

The 1976 Granada - Jons car

1997 Ford Explorer - My car

What was your first car? What happened to it?

Attack of the killer tomatoes.

Hey Kat! G'mornin'! I'd have to say you're just one step away from being a true redneck. Doesn't that car have to disappear in the tall grasses before you're a true redneck?

My first car? GAWD, can I remember that far back? Seems to me it was a 1955 Chevy BelAir, 4 door, faded light green, 235 slant six engine, 3 speed on the column. Roomy enough for about a dozen high school kids to fit comfortably! Was my Grandma's car, handed down to me from the back 40 of my Uncle's farm. Paid $50 for it! Then there was....well, guess there's enough here for a blog, so I won't spill the beans on the rest just yet.

Have a great day!

Plymouth Champ. Ran like the super star its title suggests--until it got side-swiped by a crazy woman in a station wagon in a parking lot of Target.

Antiqua! That's where Jamaica Kincaid is from, and she is a kick-ass author! Wooo! I'm jealous.

Hmmm . . . first car? 1965 Corvair. Double Wooo! I LOVED that car.

And I just started harvesting the first of my tomatoes. Much much excitement. :)

1978 Toyota Truck here...I waited for the oil light to come on and tell me that it needed service. It never came on. The smoke poured in instead...I blew the engine. *sigh* ;)

Mine was a 1954 Plymouth. It was peach color. Sure wish I had it now. it would be 52 years old.... I got it when it was 11 years old.

Dad bought 3 cars for use by the family that I used. A 1956 Rambler automatic with push-buttons on the dash and a 1960 Chevy Impala with huge fins and a straight 6 and a 1955 Plymoth with a 396 8cyl, 4brl that beat most cars in the stretch (but sucked gas!)
The first car I bought for myself was a 1967 Chevy Biscayne 2dr, straight 6 3sp on the column. I paid $2140 brandy new for it. I rebuilt that engine at 150,000miles, then drove it till 1986. By then it had almost 400,000miles. It sat in my yard in Virginia for a year cause I could no longer get a used radiator and there was a big hole in this one, bandaged with chewing gum! One day someone knocked on my door and asked if I wanted to sell it. "Sure", I said. "you take it away and its yours for $40 bucks". He came by with a 'low-boy' and I drove it up on to the flatbed. DAMN! It started right up, no problem and ran like a champ. A one-owner car... gone.

My first car was a Pontiac Grand DeVille, man was it a beast. Far as I know - it was sold as scrap metal once it left my hands.

PS - Tomato's look great, mine are finally starting to turn red. Lazy bastards.
